Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!!!!

Can you believe it is the end of November already?  I had such a wonderful Thanksgiving.  My father came up to visit and eat .  We ate Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Yams, Mac N Cheese, Corn, Brussel Sprouts, "Angel" eggs, and lots of dessert.

I'm so thankful for many things in life.  My Lord and Saviour the Most, Jesus is my life and without him I wouldn't have or be anything.  My family is next.  I have a wonderful, loving husband and two beautiful kids.

Soon before you know it, it will be Christmas.  I am hoping to treat myself to a new video camera so I can make some new stampin' videos, and get serious about blogging.  I would to post something new and teach you all something new everyday!!!  That would be a wonderful goal to set for 2011.

Well I have lots of online shopping to do, so I will talk to you all soon!

Blessing,

No Longer A Stampin' Up Demonstrator

Well I've decided to give up my Stampin' Up Demonstratorship!  I will miss a lot of things about Stampin' Up, but I believe the Lord is laying out another path for me to follow.  I will continue to stamp and use Stampin Up products, but I will just have to buy them from a demonstrator.  I don't want to leave any of my customers stranded so if you would like to order some Stampin Up product online from a demonstrator you can shoot me an email and I will give you a name of a great demonstrator I know that leaves here locally near me.  You may also go to http://www.stampinup.com/ and locate the nearest demonstrator near you, but if you order through a demonstrator online your prices will be the same as the prices in the catalog.  If you just go to http://www.stampinup.com/ and place an order there your prices will be higher.

I started a new job today, and I'm very excited and yet so many "New" things are happening right now in my life.  Hopefully soon I will have my hands on a video camera so I may record some new videos, atleast once a week would be nice. If there is anything you want to learn how to do, please shoot me an email.

Thank you all for your business!  Continue to stamp and let me know if I can be of any assistance to you!

Blessings,
Roxanne

Gift Card Holder

Hello fellow stampers!!!  As many of you know my camcorder is not working and I haven't been able to make videos for awhile now.  Well I still haven't been able to buy myself a new camera, and I've been wanting to make some new videos.  So I decided to use my webcam on my laptop.  It's pretty had to use since I have to lower the top half of my laptop so the camera points to my desk.  Well I thought I would give it a shot and make a video.

I do apologize in advance the light, sound, and quality isn't the best, but for the most part you can make out what I am doing, hehe!  So I would like to make more videos, so for now I have to use my webcam until I can get my own video camera.

Thanks for patience and enjoy todays video - Gift Card Holder.  I did see this at Gina K designs website, so thanks Gina for making this.  I changed my up a bit from hers.

INSTRUCTIONS (provided by Stampin' Up!)

1.Zigzag-stitch sides of the crochet trim together until you have created a big enough piece of fabric to run through the Big Shot. 2. Run crochet trim "fabric," beige fabric, and cotton batting through Big Shot using Flower Folds Bigz XL Die cutting one 3-3/4" flower, one 3" flower, and one 2-1/2" flower. Sew crochet trim "fabric," cotton batting, and beige fabric together to create three 3-D flowers.

3.Iron Décor Bond to wrong side of each piece of 4" x 28" fabric. Fold in half with right sides facing and sew along long sides, making handles the width you desire (ours are 3/4" wide). Turn fabric; iron flat and top stitch.

4.Create three ruffles for each side of bag by cutting four layers of each of the Deck the Halls fabric using the Big Shot and Perfect Settings Bigz XL Die (cupcake liner). Sew two ruffles together for each ruffle and sew to each side of the bag.

5.Sew Chantilly 1/2" Crochet Trim on the top of the bag.

6.To create outside bottom of bag, sew a 7-1/2" x 14" piece to each side of 10-1/2" x 14" piece to create a 14" x 24" rectangle. Iron Décor-Bond to wrong side of outside bag bottom.

7.Iron Décor-Bond on the inside of bag top. Sew bag bottom to bag top.

8.Fold lining in half and sew the side seams. Sew across corners at 2-1/2" to create gusset for the bottom of the bag. Repeat for the outside of bag. Turn outside of bag right-side out and slide lining inside. Fold the top of the bag down and top stitch closed, adding the handles as you do this.

9.Crisscross piece of Chantilly 1/2" Crochet Trim through Big Designer Button.

10.Attach flower to base of handle using Chantilly 1/2" Crochet Trim.

Selling My Craft Items

I will be selling my cards here on my blog, and maybe tutorials in the future.  I have added some buy me buttons and hopefully I can figure these out, so you can purchase my cards/craft items right here on my blog.
So please bear with me if it isn't working.  Just send me an email and I will make sure you get the item(s) you want to purchase.

Many thanks in advance for your patience!

Also on another note, my video camera is broken for sure. I can take pictures with it, or use it for live video stream (which I'm currently trying to figure out).  So until I figure out the live stream, my tutorials will be using pictures.  With me not working, it might be awhile until I can purchase a new camcorder. :(

Well Keep Stampin and look for my next tutorial this week!

New Punch Design

As most of you know SU has changed their design on all their punches, for easier storage and leverage. Other great features are they lock in place for easy storage so you can stack them, and also they have a raised circle on the top of them so when you do stack them they lay nicely on top of that raised circle.  They work best if you keep them flat on your work surface and use your whole hand, rather than just your thumbs like the old ones.

Check out two of my FAVORITE new punches Designs.

One is a petal card double - You don't have to work double as hard to punch out this punch but the punch will work double hard for you.  This punch will punch out a cute little envelope AND will score it as well.  Super Cool!!!

Second punch is an OWL.  How cute is this?  Can't wait to get this punch to see all the cute owls I can make.

Have a fun time checking out the new 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog!!!

Rubber hugs,
Roxy

I'm so sorry to say, my video camera is broken.  The connector inside my camera some how got damaged.  I can make videos, I just can't upload them to my computer.  I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.  Hopefully I can either buy a new camera or fix the one we have.  Just not sure who to call?  Any suggestions?

For now I will have to do tutorials via pictures.  This way you guys can still learn and get some fresh stampin' ideas.

2 Way Glue Pen (item# 100425 - 3.50)

Have you ever wonder why Stampin' Up's glue is called "2 Way"?  Well it can be used two ways.  It can be used for a Permanent bond and /or a Temporary bond.

When you first get your glue pen the tip will be white.

Push and hold the tip down until it turns blue.  Once you see the blue it is ready to be used.

Ready to be used!  Always replace the cap so it doesn't dry out!

If you want a permanent bond adhere the glue to your object and while the glue is blue, make your bond immediately.

If you want a temporary bond, (same as a post it note) then you add the glue to your object and wait until the glue turns from blue to clear.  Once it is clear it will be tacky, a removable adhesive. This is great for making a mask or using on your stencils.

Some great features of the 2 Way Glue Pen are:
  • Can be used for permanent bond or a temporary bond
  • Dries quickly
  • Great for adhering glitter
  • Chisel tip
  • Washes off with soap and water.

Punch Art - Mr. Fish!!!

I love making punch art, it is so much fun!  Here is a tuturial on how to make Mr. Fish.  I got this idea from http://www.yoyostamping.com/

Punch out the following pieces:  You may pick any color of your choice. Sponge edges of all pieces with a darker color. Add a little blue to the eye.

One (1) Ornament punch - fish body
One (1) Modern label punch - fish fins
One (1) Scalloped oval - fish fin
One (1) 3/4" circle  - eye
One (1) 1`/4" circle  - center of eye

2. After all edges of pieces are sponged with color add adhesive to the front of the modern label punch out.  Leaving both edges free of tape. Adhere the punch out to the back of the fish's body so you only see the top and bottom of the punch.

3.  Glue black circle to white circle to create the eye.  Adhere the eye hanging off the fish's head.

4. Cut scallop oval so you only have 5 scallops showing. Discard the larger piece or save it for another fish.

5.  Adhere small fin to the fish. Add ant white highlight markings.

Here is a quick card I made using my fishes and one cute stamp set (You and Moi) from Stampin Up.

Have fun making your fish!!!

Pocket Matchbook Candy Holder Tutorial

Step By Step Picture Tutorial on How to make a Pocket Matchbook Candy Holder

1.  Cut two pieces of cardstock (color of your choice - I used Very Vanilla - SU) at 5 3/4" x 2 3/8"  and another at 7 3/8" x 2 3/4".

2.  Score the following pieces at the following measurements:

5 3/4" piece of cardstock needs to be scored at 2 1/4", 2 1/2", 2 3/4", 5", 5 1/4'', and 5 1/2".
7 3/8" piece of cardstock needs to be scored at 3", 3 1/2", and 6 3/4"

3.  With the 5 3/4" piece of cardstock fold the cardstock to make a mountain and then a valley fold and then adhere, as shown here.

4. With the 7 3/8" piece of cardstock, fold the score lines, and add a piece of red line tape (I used scor tape in this example) to the 1/2" flap.  Make sure when applying the tape you place it close to the score line and not at the other edge or else your top flap won't be able to tuck inside.

5.  Place the pocket insert as shown and adhere the flap to the insert.

6.  After adhereing the insert open the matchbook pierce holes for the brads, and add brads to the front flap.

7.  Decorate the inside flap as desired.  Black cardstock is cut at 2" x 1 3/4".  The other pieces of cardstock are cut 1/8" smaller.  Adhere to inside pocket .

8.  Decorate the front flap.  Black cardstock is cut at 2 1/2'' x 2 1/2'' .  The other layers are 1/8'' smaller. Adhere to the front flap.

Add 1 Ghiradelli chocolate inside the pocket insert.  You can make these for anyone and any occasion!  Have fun!
